Eugene: Welcome, welcome. It was a wonderful piece.

Florence: Thank you.

Eugene: Let us know like, how was the process of the film? Like, what got you started.

Christian: Well, first of all thank you for showing our film. It's an honor for us to participate in Azure Lorica- I don't know if it's the right pronunciation. It's right?

Eugene: Yes it is, it is

Christian: Okay, the idea of writing the story came from my interest in betrayal stories, especially those with unusual scripts. I think the act of betrayal and fights comes in all futures and societies for as long as the world has been. Sorry, but I'm really, when I heard the story told by those who went through it, I thought I can do a series. A series with only real and unusual betrayal stories. Of all kinds. Love friendship, professional, etcetera. I chose this one to make the short film and serve as a pilot for this future series that will be called "Betrayal." The central, the central story of the film actually happened. It's only romanticized, romanticized to preserve the people who leave the facts.

Eugene: Okay, lovely, lovely. I noticed that you mentioned that you did this with a Sony A6300. With the lighting and the sound, how were you able to, you know, I was trying to figure out the question. How was the process, if you know, dealing with all that. The lights, the sound, the venue, there were a lot of transitions from one scene to the next and if anything, I love the last scene where you know, the two people were making love and it just like, it just surprised you.

Christian: Yeah.

Eugene: Yeah, how was that? How was the directing?

Christian: Yes this film was my first film. I have been working at advertising for over 20, 25 years and in 2020 I decided to go back to school and chosen course was cinema. This film was born for a task of my film school have been made in a guerrilla style. Two days of shooting, borrowed equipment, the whole team working for free, no money involved. With only few support we got for transportation and catering, all for the love of cinema- including Florence that participates in an excellent acting for free.

Eugene: Wow, well done. Thank you so much for it. I mean, thank you everybody. Yeah, film in itself is a labor of love, so. It's wonderful to have film makers like you actually proceed with or without the budget that is necessary to make these things happen. And in that, your craft in doing film, this is your first film as mentioned. How long ago did you actually begin this?

Christian: We started this, this production in July 2021. The last two months of preproduction, and we were filming in two days.

Eugene: Wow, two days.

Christian: You know weekends. Florence can talk about this, how was it with you, Florence? Working on this film?

Florence: Well, it was very awesome actually. We had just two days to do it and everyone just got together and everyone was doing everything. And like Christian said, we borrowed a lot of things and everyone was like, can I borrow this and can I get that? But everyone was amazing. I think we had this wonderful crew and people, they just knew what they were doing, you know? And even though we were doing it in a very low budget, everyone was having fun with it and it was very great. It was two amazing days.

Eugene: Lovely, lovely. And just for our audience, where are you guys? You know, where are you guys right now?

Christian: I'm in Niteroi, Rio de Janeiro we are from Brazil. Florence is in Rio de Janeiro, Niteroi is in Rio de Janeiro.

Eugene: Wonderful, wonderful. Okay so as it says here that, what's it called, the advice you would give others who wanted to actually be in your shoes is the quote "Cinema Novo," my apologies English is practically my only language. Can you please clarify?

Christian: You mentioned my advice in my text?

Eugene: Yes, yes.

Christian: I wrote that, I'm sure, too young. I have 48 and start cinema right now and my advice is if you have an idea and a camera, do it. Do it, just do it.

Eugene: Wonderful, Florence, it's terrible to ask a woman her age so-

Florence: I'm 32, I can say that I don't mind. I'm 32.

Eugene: Oh okay, okay, well you look lovely for your age.

Florence: Oh thank you.

Eugene: What advice would you give others that actually want to be in your position? Film is not an easy industry to be in but talent in itself grows when you actually do more so.

Florence: I think that we got to do what we love to do, so if you love something you just have to go for it. Especially when we're talking about art, I think that when you're an artist you just have to do it. You just have to put it out there because the world needs it so just do it. Like don't ever stop.

Eugene: Lovely, it's lovely. What was the hardest process you guys actually had to deal with in making this film?

Christian: Working without money.

Eugene: Of course, everyone can relate, thank you. In that I guess if anyone has any questions we're wide opened before we actually begin the next film. Is there anyone you would actually like to thank in this whole process, in this whole film production?

Christian: I want to thank all of the crew and the friends that supported us. We did crowdfunding to get some money to do the film and was love to note that everybody wants to help us to do this film. I want to thank everyone that's getting with us.

Eugene: Florence?

Florence: Yeah all the crew, everyone that was out there with us and all our friends, they were supportive and very important.

Eugene: Wonderful, well thank you so much for actually attending. I know that being an International Festival being done on Zoom is convenient but as I said I'm sure the time difference is a little inconvenient, so thank you.

Florence: Thank you so much.

Eugene: Of course.
